After trying this recipe...no one will ever see Bottle Gourd (Lauki) as a boring vegetable ;)
Ingredients required
Bottle Gourd (Lauki) 500 grams
Finely Chopped onion (1 medium)
Green Chilly (two finely chopped)
Gram Flour/Besan (2 tablespoon)
Rice Flour (1 tablespoon)
Turmeric powder (1/2 teaspoon)
Coriander powder/Dhaniya powder (1/2 teaspoon)
Red Chilly powder (1/4 teaspoon)
Salt (As per taste)
Fenugreek seeds/Methi
Mustard Oil
Finely chopped green coriander
Method of Preparation
Peel and roughly cut lauki. Boil it for 4-5 whistles.
Drain and let it cool.
Take boiled lauki in a bowl and add gram flour (besan), rice flour, turmeric powder, coriander powder, red chilly powder and salt (all quantities are mentioned above).
Mix everything well.
Now heat 3 tablespoon mustard oil in a wok and add 1/2 teaspoon fenugreek seeds/methi. Let them splutter.
Add the marinated lauki.
Flip and fry until everything is cooked properly and becomes crispy and slightly brown.
Garnish with chopped green coriander (dhaniya) and mix well.
Enjoy this amazing dish with dal-rice, roti or paratha
