Butter Chicken-Flavorful & Authentic Style

Presenting to you "Akky's Special" Butter Chicken, especially cooked to make you fall in love with


Ingredients required


For Grilled Chicken

  • Chicken (500 gm), with cuts all over to absorb marination

  • Turmeric Powder (1 Tea Spoon)

  • Red Chilly Powder (1/2 Tea Spoon)

  • Salt (As Per Taste)

  • Ginger Garlic Paste (1 Tea Spoon)

  • Tandoori masala (1 Tea Spoon)

  • Curd/Yogurt (1 & 1/2 Tea Spoon)

For Gravy

  • Butter

  • Cinnamon (2 pieces)

  • Mace (2 Flowers)

  • Chopped Onion (1 Medium)

  • Ginger Garlic Paste (1 Tea Spoon)

  • Chopped Tomatoes (3)

  • Cashew (A Handful)

  • Turmeric Powder (1 Tea Spoon)

  • Garam Masala (1/4 Tea Spoon)

  • Coriander Powder/Dhaniya Powder (1 Tea Spoon)

  • Salt (As Per Taste)

  • Fresh Cream (2-3 Table Spoon)


Method of Preparation


Marinate & Grill Chicken

  • Take Chicken pieces in a bowl.

  • Add Turmeric powder, Red Chilly powder, Ginger Garlic Paste, Salt, Tandoori Masala & Curd. (All Measurements given above).

  • Mix Well.

  • Cover & let it marinate for at least 30 minutes.

  • Preheat microwave for 5 minutes. Set it on convection mode at 180 degrees and grill the chicken for 20-25 minutes.


Gravy Making

  • Heat a pan & add 2 Table Spoon Butter.

  • Add Cinnamon and Mace. Saute for 5 Seconds.

  • Add Chopped onion and saute till they become translucent.

  • Add 1 Tea Spoon Ginger Garlic Paste.. Saute for 10 seconds.

  • Add chopped tomatoes and saute till they become nice and soft.

  • Add a handful of cashews and saute.

  • Add 1 Tea Spoon Turmeric Powder, 1/4 Tea Spoon Garam Masala, 1 Tea Spoon Coriander (Dhaniya) Powder and salt (as per taste)

  • Mix everything well. Cool & Blend it into a smooth paste.

  • Take 1 Table Spoon butter into the same heated pan & add the paste to it.

  • Saute it well till it starts releasing oil.

  • Add water to adjust the consistency of the gravy according to your choice.

  • Cook the gravy well.

  • Bring the flame to lowest and add 2-3 Table Spoon fresh cream. Keep Stirring.

  • Add Kashmiri red chilly powder to enhance the color of the gravy (optional)

  • Dry Roast 1/2 Tea Spoon Kasuri methi (Dried fenugreek leaves) in another pan.

  • Cool and crush it between your hands. Add it to the gravy and mix.

  • Add grilled chicken and cover & cook for 5 minutes.


Serve and garnish with some fresh cream on the top
